Lap 4 Alternate Assignment

The children of the Holocaust and the life of Elie Weisel were allot alike because they both experienced the Holocaust. Unlike many of the children that died Elie was a survivor.  They all faced tragic things over 1.5 million children died. Elie was able to survive because of his ability to work.  The children of the holocoust were slaves and if they did not do as they were told they would be killed.  They worked in labor camps they were alone no family members nothing but Elie had his father by his side. The children in the Holocoust were being experimented on and none survived from it. Elie was on the line towards the ovens but luckly him and his father managed to surivive unfortunatly the other children didn’t surivive.  Children were forced to move allot because the Russians were envading the Concentration Camps during this time they were moving tens of thousands of jews at a time and many died during the trip. Since Elie was young and had the will to live and he allways survived the worst of situations.  The so called “doctors” at these camps didn’t really care about their patients and would normally just let them die or kill them but not in all situations when Elie broke his leg and he couldn’t move at all and he stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks and he was being taken care of and given a good portion of food and usually tried to sneak some to his father.  The children of the Holocoust faced a horrible event that no one should ever have to go through what was going on during the world war 2 was hitler trying to extinct the Jews human race.  Even though Elie Weisel was a survivor what him and the other jews faced they will never forget.

Reading Guide questions 1-9.

1) How does Elie describe himself?

Elie describes himself as a religious person.

2) Who is moshe the beadle?

Moshe the Beadle is a homeless person who lives in Sighet and he’s one of the people that teaches Elie about Stories when he was little and how When the Nazis took him and allot of other jews and killed them but Moshe the beadle was a survivor.

3) How did the town respond to moshe the beadle stories?

How people responded to Moshe the Beadle stories is that he was insane and that he just wanted to get attention from the people and for them to feel sorry for him so people could give him money and food. What they didn’t realize is that he was right after all and when the Nazis came to Sighet and from there they were taking to the gheto.

4) Why do you think that Elie Wiesel begins Night with the story of Moshe the Beadle?

I think that Elie Wiesel begins the book Night about Moshe the Beadle because his story was sad and how nobody believed him and when they were taken they realized they should of listened.

5) Explain how the German soldiers slowly took over Sighet.

How the German soldiers slowly took over Sighet is that they first moved in with them being friendly then after the Jews gained their trust they took of over them.

6) How was Elies family seperated.

Elies family was seperated when they first went to Austwitchz and Elie went with his father and Elies mom and sisters went to another camp.

7) Why do you think the Germans take away the inmates’ personal belongings? Thier clothing? Why do they cut their hair? Tattoo a number on each person arm’s?

I think they do this because of each prisoner had their own clothes their hair and they didn’t tattoo their arms they would all have their own personality and the Germans wanted them all to be the same none of them different.

8) Elie, in recounting the first night in the concentration camp, says, “Never shall i forget that night, in the concentration camp, the first night in the concentration camp, wich has turned my life into one long night…” what does it mean for a life to be turned into “one long night”?

For his life to be turned into one long night it mean that he felt like that night was never going to end that it might of been his last day to live.

9) Please write a personal reaction to the novel so far. (should be at least one paragraph).

I think that this book is good because it tells about Elie and his father and how they were separated from his mother and daughter and how they’re experiences in Austwitchz and the other concentration camps. It tells about Elie he was only 15 years old and he was in Concentration camps for many years and it tells about his experiences there with his father and what they went through.

How to make teens smarter Article of the week. October 11

The main problem with what the teens read is the Twilight series and the Harry Potter books. The problem in this is that they dont read any nonfictional books that they could really learn something from.  And when they grow up they can’t really comprehend anything or do much because they never read any nonfictional books.

Yes i agree with this argument because many people in they’re grade asre not where they are suppost to be and they are not doing any progess.

My independ book for the class is the Hairy Potter series deathly hollows.

The future of an electric car

1). Yes, i would like to buy an electic car because it would save me allot of money on gas money. Also i would be interested in buying it because it will help save the environment.

2).No, i dont think they will last because these cares they’re battery doesnt last very long and what if your hundreds of miles away from a charging station for ur car where are you goona go you would be stuck. Even tho these cars are good for the environment they are also bad from all the electicity that is goona be wasted to charge these cars up every night. When there is very bad weather these cars can’t go on a snow storm or on a very strong shower.

3.No, i dont think they should put the vroomtones on the cars because the cars are already fine without the noisemakers and if they put it on i believe that less people are goona purchase the vehicles.
